On 8 July 2026, Prof. Dr. Martin Paul Fritze and Prof. Dr. Ivo Schedlinsky held their joint inaugural lecture at the LMU Munich School of Management.

On 8 July 2026, the LMU Munich School of Management hosted the joint inaugural lecture of Prof. Dr. Martin Paul Fritze, Professor of Marketing with a Focus in Consumer Behavior, and Prof. Dr. Ivo Schedlinsky, Professor of Managerial Accounting. Numerous guests from academia, industry, and LMU attended the event in the Freskensaal.
Following a welcome address by the Dean of the LMU Munich School of Management, Prof. Dr. Markus Glaser, Prof. Fritze opened the lecture program with his presentation, “Behavioral Marketing Research as a Foundation for Effective Management Decision-Making”. He demonstrated how insights from behavioral marketing research help improve the understanding of consumer behavior and support evidence-based management decisions.
Prof. Schedlinsky then delivered his inaugural lecture, entitled “Employee Performance in Transition: Towards a Multidimensional Understanding of Performance in Management Control Systems”. His presentation focused on the challenges in today's changing work environment and explored how management control systems can better capture and support employee performance in the future. The lecture highlighted why a multidimensional understanding of performance is becoming increasingly important and discussed its implications for both research and managerial practice.
The joint inaugural lecture provided valuable insights into the research profiles of both professorships while showcasing the breadth and diversity of business research at LMU Munich. During the subsequent reception at Königin43, guests had the opportunity to continue the discussions in an informal setting and exchange ideas with the two professors as well as colleagues from across the university and beyond.
